I'm Bex, the founder of Hideaway Home Fragrances and Gifts. I wanted to take a moment to share a very personal story with you—a story of loss, healing, and a life-changing decision that has transformed my business.

When I first launched Hideaway Home Fragrances back in 2022, it was a dream come true. But shortly after, my world was shaken. I lost my mum to aggressive ovarian cancer, a devastating blow that left me struggling with grief. Not long after, my dad passed away in an accident, leaving a void that words cannot describe. And just last month, my little companion Alfie, who had been my constant source of comfort, was tragically run over. These losses have been incredibly difficult, and I found myself battling overwhelming anxiety.

Adding to this emotional journey, I underwent a full hysterectomy last year, which threw me into menopause almost overnight. The anxiety, hormonal imbalances, and emotional ups and downs became a daily struggle. I realised I needed something more than just beautiful fragrances—I needed products that could genuinely support my wellbeing.

That’s why, in January this year, I made a significant decision and financial investment for my business: I transitioned from using fragrance oils, which are often made with chemicals, to 100% natural essential oils.  This decision was born out of a personal need for healing and balance, but I knew it was the right step for all of you too.
